Congratulations to Tanner Wigren on his 5th birthday present — pinto pony gelding "Wheels". The two have been having lots of fun together and are looking forward to making their leadline debut soon.
A large and festive CP group attended the 31st Annual SWAA Halloween show at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield, WA. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun with plenty of sweets and Halloween decorations. Among the big winners were Scottie & Kimberly Wright and their yearling ABD Night Time Magic and SC Raydeant Hope both of whom showed in halter. "Night" is a very exciting up and coming young stallion and definitely one to keep your eye on! "Hope" is a lovely filly who is also on our sale page. Another big winner was Twist and Shout FCF+/ with youth rider Andrina Hiemann who won all of her pleasure classes (English & Western) and earned the 14-18 High point. Pam Snead and her pretty pinto gelding Kamachies Pride turned in lovely English rides as did Jennifer Backous and her purebred mare NF Midnite Comet. Alex Pierce worked hard and came away successful with her buckskin mare "Sunni". Also showing were some lesson students of Tim's. Barb Kilgore and daughter Brynne rode well on their quarter horses "Duke" and "Zan". Two new youth riders, Nicolette and Ellie Nesbitt were quite a sight on their pleasure type pintos. They'd only had one lesson with Tim before the show and we are looking forward to watching their continued progress. Another youth rider, Dove Rantala and purebred gelding Kkavalier were also at the show and won the Native Costume class. Last but not least was Tanner Wigren celebrating his 5th birthday with a blue ribbon in leadline on "Buffy".
Command Performance wrapped up the 2005 "A" show season at the Pacific Rim show in Spanaway in mid-October. Although the show was small, it was a fun group who got together one final time and it was a great place to school youngsters or work on issues. Lovely WH Alimanor came home with the Champion Arabian Stallion title for owners Floyd Thompson and Jessica Magalhaes — we can't wait to present this *Emanor son under saddle next year! Also showing and coming away winners were Philosophee the pretty liver chestnut stallion owned by Judy Hamblen who won his sport horse in hand class as did Tim's half-Arab mare Lucky Gold Penny. Finishing the year with a bang was Twist and Shout FCF+/ who once again won all of his performance classes with Rachel in Amateur and with youth rider Andrina Hiemann in pleasure, equitation, and horsemanship. Congratulations to everyone who attended.
Congratulations to Rachel Wigren and her half-Arabian gelding Twist and Shout FCF+/ on their recent show ring successes in Canada. Rachel and "Buffy" headed to the AAHABC show in Langley, BC and had a blast. The pair won all western pleasure classes entered and came home with the Championship in Amateur Western Pleasure as well. What a nice group of people to show with and a lovely facility at which to show. Additional thanks to Rosemary Reed and Reed Training Stables for allowing "Buffy" and I to stable with them and offering support and companionship.
It was a solo trip to the SWAA "A" Show held in Olympia WA on Sept 17-18 for Arabian stallion WH Alimanor (*Emanor x Aastoria), but it was a successful one. After only 1 month at CP and being new to halter and showing, "Alimanor" came home with the Reserve Championship in Arabian Stallions with Tim showing and then owner Jessica Magalhaes stepped up and took home the Championship title in the Amateur division. Congratulations to both handlers. We are very excited about this four year old stallion's future!
We also congratulate Angela Burckhard and her Saddlebred/pinto gelding Class Dismissed on yet another blue ribbon winning show. At the Big 6 Show held in Spanaway Sept 16-18, "Skeeter" came home with many championships, blues, and two high point awards! This bay and white gelding is really one to watch as he competes in driving, English and halter with owner Angela and Tim. Congratulations to all!
A huge congratulations to Angela Burckhard and her Pinto/Saddlebred gelding Class Dismissed ("Skeeter") who is as of this writing ranked #1 in the nation in Pinto Pleasure type Driving as well as other high rankings in other divisions. Angela and Tim have been busy attending pinto shows and coming home with more than their fair share of the blues and championships. Congratulations to them!
CP also sent a strong group to the Region 5 Sport Horse Championships in Auburn, WA. This was the first year that the Sport Horse show was held off-site and it was a wonderful time. The weather was a bit uncooperative on Saturday morning, but once the skies cleared it was lovely. Tim showed four in-hand horses and all came away with Top Five or better. We congratulate Judy Hamblen and her 2 year old Arabian Stallion Philosophee on his Reserve Championship his first time shown! He shows great promise. Also coming home a winner was Twist and Shout FCF+/ who earned a Top 5 in a large Half-Arabian gelding class. The Half-Arabian mares Lucky Gold Penny and Halali Berry Bey were our big winners, however, earning Champion and Reserve respectively. Congratulations to all!
Two lovely CP pintos attended the PtHAWW show held July 22-24 in Spanaway and came home with a multitude of ribbons and awards! Adding yet more points to her credit in halter was PF Ed's Elegant Lady who is also offered for sale. Also shown was Class Dismissed a saddle type gelding owned by Angela Burckhard who came home with victories in English Pleasure and Driving — quite a successful first pinto show for the duo! Congratulations to both horses and their owners and exhibitors.
Command Performance made a good showing at the 2005 Region 5 Arabian Championship Show in Puyallup held July 4-9. Many came away with placings and those who didn't quite make the money still ended up with good rides and often did make a judge's card or two. Special kudos to Angela Nemjo and her NSH/Half-Arabian gelding who showed in the biggest amateur country pleasure classes with 20 and 30 horses! Just navigating the ring was a feat in and of itself. Prize winners included:
Congratulations to all who showed - we are proud of your accomplishments and hard work.
Several CP horses and riders attended the Mid Summer Classic Show held June 10-12 in Puyallup, WA. Angela Nemjo and her NSH/Half-Arab gelding NC Vice Chairman (“Charlie”) continued their winning ways earning a District 8 NSH Top Five in Country Pl ATR — what a first year this pair has had. “Charlie” will be offered for sale and will make an excellent equitation mount — call Tim for more information. Also in the winner's circle was Twist and Shout FCF +/ (“Buffy”) earning Championships in Open and Amateur Western Pl with Tim and Rachel respectively as well as winning the JTR class with youth rider Andrina Hiemann. The three year olds also did us more than proud on their first outings. Sale mare BNB Krys of Fame (“Krysta”) owned by Scottie & imberly Wright was dynamic in her Country Pl class — the black and white mare has a huge future ahead of her! Also showing huge potential is Keep The Fire Burning (“Porsche”) who did a beautiful job for Tim as well as for her amatuer owner Traci Viers in her first trip around the show ring. Traci placed high and qualified herself for Regionals in Western Pl. We are so proud of them both! The youth were also well represented with Dove Rantala showing her purebred gelding KKavalier in pleasure and equitation where they showed some real heart and came home with several ribbons as did youth rider Kila Adams on her half-Arab Kilas Destiny (“Dezi”) who also took ribbons and showed in both pleasure and equitation. Also showing though they didn't get to stall with us were clients Cindi and Devin Homer and their pretty pinto half-Arab mare EA Setincolor (“Calla”) who showed and placed well in both western and hunter pl with youth Devin and western pl amateur with Cindi. This horse and her riders have come so far and it's fun to watch the progress. As always, everyone had a good time and learned lots while supporting one another.
Tim and family travelled to Bend, OR on June 4 where Tim judged and all gaited horse show. What a fun group of people! There were Peruvian Paso's, Paso Fino's, Tennesee Walkers, and Spotted Mountain Horses. They competed in English, Western, Trail and even did Barrel racing and Pole bending where the horses were not allowed to break gait and canter. After the show the show management held a barbeque which was attended by well over 90% of exhibitors in addition to a trail ride the following day. Many of the exhibitors were surprised to hear that Tim does not ride, show, or train gaited horses regularly and they commented that he was the best judge they'd seen for this show and he would be welcome back anytime. The show was held at a private facility that was absolutely lovely and the weather was sunny and in the low 70's - we couldn't have asked for anything better.
Memorial Day weekend found several CP students at the Clark County Fairgrounds for some schooling time. Tim showed Cydney Velez's gelding PGA Khambridge to wins in hunter pleasure while student Pam Snead showed her pinto gelding Kamachies Pride and earned some ribbons in saddleseat. Youth rider Dove Rantala also shone in saddleseat with her gelding Kkavalier. Tim also showed Traci Viers' mare Keep The Fire Burning in western pleasure coming home with several ribbons. Several of Tim's lesson students also showed including Meghan and Trey McCaige. All in all a successful weekend for CP.
CP is now travellin in style! We recently purchased a 2005 Exiss 6 horse and will have space available for horses travelling to Canadian Nationals in August. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
A small but mighty Team CP hit the Cascade Youth Benefit Show in Spanaway on Mother's Day weekend. Angela Nemjo and her Half-Arab/NSH gelding NC Vice Chairman continued their winning ways in the Country Pleasure division winning their Select AAOTR class and being named show Reserve Champions. Tim then showed "Charlie" in open and was named show Champion! Congratulations to all of them. Tim then showed Melissa Gavin's stallion Blacklord of Nyte in western pleasure and came home with several ribbons on the always improving black stallion. Finally, youth rider Kila Adams made her '05 debut with Half-Arab gelding Kilas Destiny in Country Pleasure and Equitation by taking home blue ribbons in all classes as well as the Championship JTR. Quite a start for the duo! Next up, the Mid-Summer Classic over Father's Day weekend (we like to hit all the holiday weekends) in Puyallup.
CP horses and riders attended the Heritage Show in Spanaway in early April and got the year off to a great start. Angela Nemjo and her Half-Arabian gelding NC Vice Chairman made their “A” show debut with a win in Country Pleasure Amateur. Tim also showed “Charlie” to Champion honors in the Open division. Rachel and her palomino gelding Twist and Shout FCF+/ started the year with Champion honors in Amatuer Western Pleasure. Tim then showed “Buffy” to Reserve Champion in Open. Melissa Gavin's stallion Blacklord of Nyte placed well in large Arabian Western Pleasure classes with Tim aboard and Tim also showed two year old Half-Arabian filly Halali Berry Bey to a win in Sport Horse in Hand. Congratulations to everyone and we look forward to more successes in 2005!
The following weekend found two CP horses back in Spanaway for the PtHAWW Pinto Big 6 show. Patty Chapman's mare Eds Elegant Lady was Champion for three judges in halter and also came away in the ribbons in Saddle Type English Pleasure. Also showing was Halali Berry Bey who earned three Reserve Champions in halter. Both of these mares can be seen on the sale page as well.
Next stop, the Cascade Region 5 Youth Benefit Arabian Show in Spanaway over Mother's Day weekend.
A small but mighty group of us headed to Olympia in early March to school our horses and have some fun. Melissa Gavin and her stallion, Blacklord of Nyte, continued to improve and come home with ribbons despite a rather crazy day as the fire alarm went off and the barn and arenas had to be evacuated. Talk about a learning situation! Angela Nemjo and her NSH gelding, “Charlie”, turned in some of their best rides ever and came away with several blue ribbons and lots of great experiences. Tim rode Excluczive, owned by Carolyn Cameron, in his first ever show under saddle and he too came away with high ribbons and got lots of attention. Finally Tim took two-year-olds “Lodi” and “Halle” (who can be seen on our sale horse page) for their first ever show and they placed seconds and firsts respectively in classes of 5-12 aged horses. All in all a great show for everyone!
CP members headed north the weekend before Valentine's Day to show in Olympia at the Trails End Arena. It was a big debut show for Melissa Gavin who rode in her first show aboard her Arabian stallion Blacklord of Nyte in walk/jog western pleasure. The classes were big, but Melissa and "Nyte" were up to the challenge coming away with a 5th, 3rd, and 1st! Congratulations to them. Also in the ribbons was a student of Tim's, Pam, and her pinto/half-Arabian gelding "Mack" who, after a lengthy time as an unhappy western horse has become a saddleseat horse, placed 3rd in their English Pl class despite the fact that Pam has only been riding saddleseat for a month or so! Way to go Pam and Mack! Tim showed Class Dismissed a pinto/ASB gelding for owner Angela Burckhard and won Champion Halter horse. Angela then won numerous placings on "Skeeter" in English Pleasure. Finally, Tim showed stock type pinto mare The Fleet Breeze ("Sissy") to Res Champion honors in English Pleasure as well as numerous placings in western pleasure. We are so proud of all of our horses and riders.
Congratulations to Tabitha Hackler and her lovely Appaloosa mare Mywildestfantasea ("Abby") on their success at the World show this year. This was their first trip to the Worlds (as well as Tim's first World exhibitor) and boy was it a memorable one! Tabitha and her mare earned a Top Five in Novice Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation with a lovely ride and pattern. Then they were told that Tabitha had been awarded the Sportsmanship Award for the show which is voted on by the people who put on the show—from the office staff to the judges and stewards. A wonderful first World experience!
Command Performance showed off the versatility of the Arabian breed at the 2005 OHA (Oregon Horsemens Assn) Judges Seminar in Corvallis, OR. EA Aristansk owned by Patty Chapman and Roxan Renton was presented in the English and Halter divisions by Tim Wigren and Twist and Shout FCF+/ was presented by owner Rachel Wigren in the Western and Halter divisions. The Judges Seminar gives OHA judges a chance to see the various breeds and learn about them in order to more fairly and knowlegably judge them.
